General Artifact and Scroll Drop
Information
To activate an artifact you need:
1. All 3 scrolls
2. Encounter Credit: This means killing the mob or finishing the steps
required to get credit for the encounter (most often just killing a
mob)
3. You need the artifact ( Drops off Encounter mob, but not 100%
of the time, it can also be purchased/traded from other players)
Once you have all 3 things you can right click on the 1st
scroll in your series of 3 and type /use this will combine all 3
scrolls into one.
Then go to the Loremasters in the Hall of Heroes and hand
the artifact to each of the Loremasters until one accepts it, then hand
him the combined scroll....Artifact is now activated and in your
inventory. Jan 21

The Apprentices found in each of the Havens throughout Atlantis
continue to learn more and more. Through hard work and a great deal of
study, they have uncovered vital information about the locations of all
the scrolls, books, diaries, and journals, etc., that are required to
unlock the ancient artifacts of Atlantis. The Apprentices are ready to
share this information with all who speak with them.
- In response to player feedback, the artifact scrolls have been
adjusted to drop from only one mob type per artifact. Scrolls were also
moved to different mobs if the associated encounter required players to
have good faction with the mobs previously dropping the scrolls.
- In response to players requesting scrolls to be made available on
more mobs, many humanoid mobs in the dungeons will now each have a
chance to drop a large variety of scrolls appropriate to that region.
Sobekites in outdoor Oceanus will also have a chance to drop a large
variety of scrolls. (from Jan 6 hot fix)
Q: Does mob level have any bearing on drop chances? I ask
particularly relating to scrolls. Does a blue con mob have a lower
chance to drop a scroll than an orange or red con mob?
A: I asked the Item Mistress, and the answer isn't a simple yes or no.
She said "The difficulty of an encounter is one factor in determining
the number of *magic* items that are dropped, as well as the drop rate
of specific items in a particular encounter. The level of the mob does
not necessarily correspond to the difficulty of the encounter,
therefore the mob level is not used in setting the drop rates.
"Scrolls do not follow the same rules as magic items for their drop
rate. There are two possible drop rates for each scroll, with higher
level mobs receiving the higher rate." Dec 19

- We are aware there has been some confusion about whether
players have received credit for a story encounter or not. To help
clear up this confusion, players will now receive a message when they
successfully complete a story encounter, whether they obtain the
artifact or not. Players will see a message like "You have completed
the Fool's Bow Encounter quest." This will then show up in your
completed quest list, although story encounters are not quests. If no
message is received, then credit for that encounter was not awarded.
When a player unlocks an artifact, the Encounter listing will be
removed from the completed list and replaced with the Artifact
Completion message (such as 'You have completed the Fool's Bow quest').
Check your completed quest list to see which story encounters you have
received credit for in the past.

- Information about what artifacts are available to which classes
can now be found on the apprentices in all Havens. Speak to the
following apprentices to learn more about the artifacts.
Stygia: Albion - Danielle, Midgard - Yanja, Hibernia - Wyia.
Volcanus: Albion - Dredge, Midgard - Aidanar, Hibernia - Rhianera
Aerus: Albion - Alice, Midgard - Yager, Hibernia - Noira

Combining Scrolls
- Players can combine a set of Oceanus Artifact Scrolls in various ways
now besides just combining scrolls in numerical order. This should help
save on inventory space. For example, scrolls 1 and 2 can be combined
into one scroll, and then later a player could use scroll 3 to combine
both into the final book. This can be done with any combination of
scrolls 1, 2, and 3. Also, if players have already combined scrolls 1
and 2, and scrolls 2 and 3 (to form two scrolls), they can now combine
those two scrolls to form the final book. This will work with any of
the combined, but incomplete, scrolls. (from patch 1.66j, Nov 20)
You can only activate one particular artifact once ever per
toon. So if they ever DO wear out releveling one isn't even an
option. 11/11
- Traq
You can still activate different types of artifacts on one toon.
The above statement refers to activating the very same artifact more
than once.
If you have all of the scrolls, tablets, stones, or fish scales of an
artifact, and you combine them.. there is a command that can be
used to tell the story of said artifact. Right-click on the
combined scrolls' and type /interact. It will tell the story of
what artifact it goes to and where it can be found.
