Mau of Bastet Quest
There are 4 different versions of this quest. I will label them
here as Versions 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Starting NPC: Inarus (Stygian Delta 38.9k 13.5k)
The sphinx is Directly North of Stygia Haven. Just go north till
you cross river and see some ruins. 11/7 - Wisper
Level Requirement: 45
Comments on Solo, Grouped, or Battlegrouped:
This quest has been soloed, but is easier with two or more people and
speed. Support classes will want to bring a friend.
Steps:
Version 1
--It's very easy to find Necropolis.
Best route if soloing is to hug the zone wall all the way into the
Land of Atum until you get to Necropolis and then go east to the
rocks.
Find two rocks east of the entrance to the Necropolis in the
Land of Atum and /search the smaller one for the hidden
writing. Once you have copied the writing, read the
Papyrus.
After searching the wall/rock you have to right click on the scroll(so
is shows up in the mini info window) then type /interact that will
allow you to move on to the next step. Dec 23
- Grimmek
Find a tidal-weaver marid in the waters of the Stygian Delta and see if
she has the map the renegade wrote about. --Again this
is very easy but long trip back to the river. The mob was orange
to 50 but didn't hit hard.
Find the iaculus named Kaphiri and get the Renegade's Key from
it. The map indicates that Kaphiri may be found near the
Necropolis in the Land of Atum. --Yep, back to the
Land of Atum!! I found Kaphiri at loc 17357, 14919 in the Land of
Atum and it conned yellow to 50 and was very easy to kill.
Dispose of the scorpions Amessis and Qakare. Go south from the
great pyramid in the Land of Atum and through the arched rock to reach
the rocks where they are. --The named scorpions are at
loc 25466, 60312 in the Land of Atum. Both were yellow to 50 and
do aggro at the same time. I was able to easily solo it as a druid.
/Dig around the large rock that Qakare and Amessis were quarding to
find the Renedage's Chest.
Use the Renegade's Key to open the Renegade's Chest.
Place the treasure of Bastet upon your body to receive the blessings of
Bastet and return the treasure to its rightful owners.
Drop:
Item received was a Blessing of Bastet Potion (1 charge of a value 6
health regen) as well as 8 gold.

Version 2
When I ran the quest again, I was sent on a different quest.
Go to the ruins to the W/SW of Stygia Haven. Ruins are in sight of the Stygia Haven (28000,60000 in Stygia).
/search the wall there to Spawn the "Guardian of the Ruins" (O con at 50). Kill Guardian.
Then you are asked to /search the wall for writings so they can be
copied into your Papyrus.
Next you are sent to kill two winged scarabs, Sabah and then
Yafeu that can be found by the group of rocks east-southeast of the
great pyramid in the Land of Atum. They were both found at loc
52584, 48804 in the Land of Atum and could probably be soloed by most
tanks or casters. Support classes bring a friend if you don't have
insta heals, mezzes, etc.
Note: I ran up to the 2 named scarabs and I rooted "Sabah" first
incase they both aggroed at once but they didn't. When I rooted
"Sabah" it gave a message about him absorbing power from others and he
grew up to an oj con from a yellow con. I ignored this and sent
my pet to attack "Yafeu" and I nuked him down. When "Yafeu" died
he spawned or summoned 3 more yellow scarabs who proceeded to rape me
so I don't know what else Sabah does but this encounter has been beefed
up. Feb 5 - Biot Messiah
Then you are asked to /dig near the
rocks where the two named scarabs were protecting (careful, they repop
fast). Keep digging until you have BOTH pieces of the statues.
Then use one half of the statue on the other half to reassemble
it. After it's in one piece, place it over the paper doll of your
character to put it on you (no clue what spot it should go in, but it
wants you to put it on). That completes that quest.
I only ran the quest 3 times, but it seems that there's several for
each one possibly.

Version 3
Warning: Along the way of doing this version of the quest,
you will run into Setian Desert Scouts which take away your AF buff with
their arrows, this is at least true for valewalkers. Nov 13

Find the corner of a ruined acient building southwest of Inarus.
Dispose of the setians that guard it. --loc on wall is 29K, 20K in
Stygian Delta. There were two yellow con guards that had to be
killed. And yes....they both came when I pulled, can't be mezzed
or rooted I think, I got resisted several times.
I use sorc and could mez those 2 yellow setians guards yesterday. Nov 20 - Sze
Then /search the wall they had been protecting as soon as they are
dead. Do it before they repop or you have to kill them all over
again.
Next you have to find and kill Oshara (named croc). After killing
it, you must /search the nest (before she repops). Loc for croc
and nest is 44411, 38313 in Stygian Delta.
Next you have to kill Baktre and /search her nest. 57k, 32k -
Land of Atum along river
Then kill Abayomi and /search her nest. Loc is 45K, 37K in land
of Atum. After you kill her and /search, three baby crocs
pop. They were 2 greens and a blue con to 50...easy to kill.
Then put together the necklace by using one of the pieces. Then
place the final necklace on you.

Verion 4
1) Head SW of Pyramid in Land of Atum to /search an arched
rock. (loc 17.7k, 48.3k)
2) Locate and kill named iaculus, Oseye, in Land of
Atum. (loc 15.3k, 14.7k) yellow at 50.
3) Locate and kill named croc (Prahotep) in Land of Atum.
(loc 28.2k, 42.2k) yellow at 50.
4) Locate and kill named setian (Amasis) in Stygian Delta.
(loc 21k, 15k) yellow at 50.

6) Return to arched rock (loc 17.7k, 48.3k) and /bury the chest

7) Defeat named lion (Tabers) *note* dunno if it was bad luck for

pop again) I only had to deal with Tabers.
8) Equip the bracelet Tabers drops and voila.

Tips:
Oseye - Saw him while I was running around looking for something
else. It's a named snake. Location is up by Necropolis, upper NW corner
of Atum by the 3 columns sticking out of the sand. Don't have a /loc,
but he was in this area. Nov 15
- Monet
He's just South of Kaphiri, about loc 15/19 or
15/15 Nov 15

The Wandering Mau are on the Mau of Bastet faction, and the plain mau
and the lions are on the Mau of Sekhmet faction. To get neutral
faction with the Mau of Bastet, one guy did the Mau of Bastet quests
four times and killed some setians. Nov 13
